Shootings / Violent Crimes on the Rise in Chicago’s Little Village
According to the Chicago Tribune gang violence and shootings have been on the rise recently in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood. The violence is believed to be linked to gang violence involving turf battles and drug dealing. Police believe much of the gang violence is retaliatory involving two rival gangs. The neighborhood has had four shootings in the first few weeks of 2014 despite large snow accumulations and freezing temperatures.
